Wilton Manors is known as the gay district, but it much more. While this island city does claim the majority of gay residents and businesses, it is also a family-friendly neighborhood with beautiful homes and schools, great shopping, dining, beautiful parks, and even the very first South Florida Dairy Queen.
Colohatchee Park is a picturesque slice of nature with a wooden bridge that transports hikers from the urban surroundings to this tranquil paradise. City planners have painstakingly preserved this as well as Richardson Historic Park & Nature Preserve for a pleasant walk, or for a place to start their kayak adventure down the scenic Middle River.
